3rd Annual Youth Job Fair

2011 Youth Job Fair 3rd Annual Today's Youth, Tomorrow's Future               Job and Resource Fair

Saturday, April 30, 2011

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

San Bernardino Valley College

701 South Mount Vernon Ave.

San Bernardino, CA  92410

The 3rd Annual Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Future Job and Resource Fair will have over 50 employers and agencies greeting youth age 15-23 (but all job seekers are welcome) to offer opportunities for jobs, work experience, training, and other employment resources. The event will begin at 9:00 AM with opening remarks by State Senator Gloria Negrete-McLeod as well as other prestigious officials and influential community leaders. So we urge ALL interested youth to attend and take full advantage of these vital resources.

3rd Annual Today's Youth, Tomorrow's Future Job and Resource Fair

EMPLOYERS AND AGENCIES: There is NO COST to employers or non-profit agencies to participate in this event.  If you are interested in participating and would like to offer opportunities for employment, apprenticeships, and training, or share your information and resources please download and complete the registration form and submit it immediately to ensure that your organization is confirmed and your information is included in the Job Fair Employer Booklet.

JOB SEEKERS: This event is seeking youth 15-23 who are interested in employment. There will be more than 50 employers and agencies, some taking same-day applications and some maybe even hiring on the spot. So job seekers should come prepared. Dress for success, bring your resume' and a positive attitude.  We suggest you arrive early enough to meet as many employers as you can. Take advantage of the helpful resources, like the professional resume' critique and interview skills workshop. Computers will be available to submit online applications, and there will be giveaways and raffle prizes.

YOUTH VOLUNTEERS: We are seeking youth volunteers to help out on event day. There is a lot that goes into making an event like this successful. So we are required to enlist the help of others to assist through volunteerism. This event provides a variety of volunteer opportunities for interested youth; opportunities that allow students to perform required field work, for youth to complete community service hours, or just to help out and perform a gesture of good will. Youth Volunteers will be able to choose a work shift to give them a chance to take advantage of the many resources and employment opportunities as well. Be a volunteer!

SPONSORS: Last year’s job and resource fair was a great success.  We were able to connect approximately 300 youth to over 150 open job opportunities.  We would like to build on the success of last year’s event and kindly ask for your support. With it we can create a renewed focus on the importance of helping today’s youth with job readiness skills and potential employment. This event is free to students and vendors, so any financial support is appreciated; and your donation would be an investment in the futures of some deserving young people. As a sponsor, your organization will be recognized through our marketing campaign, announced during the welcoming ceremony and featured in the event program. Be a sponsor!
